Young fans' school to appear in Baku
By Laman Sadigova
The Baku 2015 House of Fans has announced that it will close temporarily in conjunction with the completion of the first European Games on June 28.
The House of Fans, initiated by the Russian Information and Cultural Center (RICC), has been operating during the 17 days of the Games. During this time, more than 10 thousands guests from dozens of countries have visited the location. Every evening, Russian and Azerbaijani athletes and sports veterans come to honor Baku 2015 medal winners.
The RICC announced that the House of Fans will close its doors to visitors for a few days for repairs and to reequip its halls and rooms.
With the support of the Russian embassy in Azerbaijan and RICC, the House will continue to host its main exhibit at least until the end of the year.
The Baku 2015 House of Fans will not shut down, and will transform into the Baku 2015 Young Fans’ School.
Exhibits from Russian museums will be replaced by exhibits honoring Azerbaijani athletes from their personal archives, alongside the personal belongings of foreign athletes.
A number of Olympians, such as judoka Nazim Huseynov, has volunteered to meet with Azerbaijani students.
The school’s first activists will be implemented under the banner of the First European Games.
