General Motors to become 11th F1 team in 2026
Formula 1 (F1) revealed in a statement on Monday that it reached an agreement "in principle" with General Motors to include GM/Cadillac as the 11th team on the F1 grid in 2026, Azernews reports.
Furthermore, Formula 1 praised General Motors and its partners' commitment to brand the new F1 team in 2026, stressing that the automaker "will enter as an engine supplier at a later time."
"General Motors and Cadillac’s commitment to this project is an important and positive demonstration of the evolution of our sport. We look forward to seeing the progress and growth of this application, certain of the full collaboration and support of all the parties involved," Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said.
