The championship took place in the Polish city of Mikolow, bringing together seniors over 36, adults 18+, juniors 16-17, cadets 10-15 years.
Azerbaijan was represented at the tournament by 9 members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' sports society. The athletes competed in the disciplines of ground fight, full contact, close contact, and self-defense.
In the competitions for athletes aged over 36, Jeyhun Huseynov (70 kg) won a gold medal in the full contact discipline, while Ramin Yusifov (70 kg) and Magrur Ahmadov (93 kg) won gold in ground fight.
Ilaha Valieva claimed first place in the women's competition in self-defense, Gunay Mammadova (56 kg) secured third place.
In the competition among athletes aged 16-17, Ragig Gambayrov won a bronze medal in ground fight.
As a result, the Azerbaijani team concluded the championship with 4 gold and 2 bronze medals.
The team was led by coach and educator of the Ministry of Internal Affair's Sports Society, Honored Coach Rasul Mammadov.
He is the chairman of the judging committee of the International Combat Jiu-Jitsu Federation and has repeatedly served as the chief judge for world, European, and Asian championships.
