Soccer tournament between Azerbaijani students in Istanbul ends [PHOTOS]
The soccer tournament between Azerbaijani students held by Yıldız Technical University with the support of the Turkiye-Azerbaijan Associations Federation in Istanbul has ended.
As reported by Azernews, citing the State Committee on Diaspora Affairs, the teams participating in the tournament, which started on October 30, were named "Khojavand", "Khojaly", "Khankendi", "Zangilan", "Jabrayil", "Aghdam", "Lachin" in honor of our liberated territories. ", "Shusha", "Fuzuli" and "Zangilan".
The first match was held between the "Khankendi" and "Fuzuli" teams. The final game of the tournament took place on November 8 - Victory Day. "Shusha" and "Khojavand" teams met in a decisive match. The "Khojavand" team won the game, which took place under tense conditions, and became the owner of "The Victory Cup".
At the closing ceremony of the tournament, the national anthems of Turkey and Azerbaijan were played, and the dear memory of the martyrs of the two brotherly countries was honored.
Then Parviz Mammadzade, adviser to the chairman of TADEF, made a speech, congratulated the members of the winning team, and presented the "Victory Cup" to the "Khojavand" team. Certificates were presented to other teams participating in the tournament.
The participants of the tournament, in turn, expressed their gratitude to the organizers for this wonderful initiative and wished for such sports events to be held regularly.
