Azerbaijani boxing team strongest at Baku 2017

Boxing events at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku have ended. Azerbaijan’s national team was the best in the seven days of boxing competitions, said the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation.

Azerbaijani male boxers in 10 weight classes won seven medals – three gold, three silver and one bronze.

Azerbaijan’s Javid Chalabiyev (60 kg), Teymur Mammadov (91 kg) and Mahammadrasul Majidov (+91 kg) won gold, Tamerlan Abdullayev (69 kg), Kamran Shakhsuvarly (75 kg) and Rauf Rahimov (81 kg) won silver, and Tayfur Aliyev (56 kg) won bronze at Baku 2017.

Uzbekistan’s team ranked second in medal standings, winning five medals – three gold and two bronze medals.

The national team of Kazakhstan ranked third with two gold and three bronze medals.

The next two countries in medal standings are Syria and Turkmenistan.
