Some 16 national teams of Azerbaijan took part in the Neymar Jr's Five Tournament held in Baku Boulevard.

The finalists were determined through regional qualifying rounds held among more than 330 teams. The qualifying stage was held in Lankaran, Sheki, Ganja, Guba and Baku, Trend Life reported.

The tournament was co-organized by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Youth and Sport, volunteer organization “Bir”, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Education and the administration of the National Seaside Park.

Following a strong and emotional struggle, team “Şirinlər” defeated the team of “Qara Qartal” with the score 1:0. Thus, the team will represent Azerbaijan in Neymar Jr's Five World Final, to be held in Brazil in July.

After the match, team's captain Elmeddin Huseynzade shared his joy: "We have beaten everyone in Azerbaijan, and now we go to Brazil. We are ready to win!".

Note that the 16th team that received a special permit to final (wild card), was female team "Baku Stars". The team lost in the 1/8 finals to "Qaradağ – inşaatçılar MT.".

The Brazil and Barcelona great, Neymar Jr is giving thousands of young football players the chance to step up their game by staging a unique knockout tournament.

Players aged 16-25 representing 43 countries from six continents will join Neymar Jr's Five competition. The five-player teams lose one player each time they concede a goal until there are no players left, or the 10-minute game ends.
