2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix one & two day tickets on sale now

Baku City Circuit (BCC) announced the release of new one and two-day ticket options for the 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix on February 2, which will be available to purchase online via www.bakucitycircuit.com. The second successive Formula 1 race to be staged on the streets of Azerbaijan’s capital city is scheduled to take place on the weekend of June 23 -25.

The launch of these two new ticket options comes as BCC’s initial early bird phase – which offered discounts of up to 30% on the cost of all 4-day tickets – drew to a close on 31st January after experiencing a strong response from fans who have purchased tickets to the fastest street race in Formula 1 at a reduced cost. The 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix is certainly promising to be a truly international affair. Over 40 countries from across the globe – including the likes of Australia and China - have availed of this offer during the early bird period, with Russia and the UK so far topping the list of international buyers.

Both one and two-day tickets offer grandstand seating only (excluding the main Absheron Grandstand) and will provide fans with full access to the vending area with its wide range of entertainment as well as to the nightly live music concerts taking place on the main stage.

One-day grandstand tickets range from 70 manats – 125 manats ($36-$64), while two-day grandstand tickets range from 180 manats – 440 manats ($92-$226) (cost in US$ will be determined by currency rate on day of purchase).

4-day tickets are still available at full price (ranging from AZN200 – AZN690) and include grandstand access to not only the three days of racing as well as all accompanying entertainment offerings but also to a special Pit Lane Walk on Thursday 22nd June.

In addition, special ‘Junior’ tickets at the Khazar and Bulvar Grandstands for children aged 2-15 are also still available to families travelling to the event together as well as Daily Roaming Tickets to those preferring to watch the action from different locations on the track on various standing areas and podiums.

Last year’s inaugural F1 race weekend in Baku was widely recognised as a huge success, introducing one of the most challenging circuits on the F1 calendar to a global audience of millions. The race also confirmed the newest street circuit in F1 as the fastest of its kind, with a new F1 street circuit speed record set by Valtteri Bottas (recording an official speed of 366kph along the circuit’s main straight, later unofficially recorded as reaching an astonishing 378kph) while it also delivered the joint-fastest pit stop of all time by the Williams Martini Racing team (on Felipe Massa’s car), matching the existing Red Bull record of 1.92 seconds, previously set at the U.S. Grand Prix in 2013.

BCC’s Executive Director, Arif Rahimov, commented on today’s launch earlier this morning: “We are delighted with the response we got to the early bird phase of our ticket sales process which indicated a strong increase in interest from both home and abroad to attend the second successive F1 race weekend in Baku. Now we enter the next phase of our ticketing campaign by providing fans with even more options to experience this amazing race from a variety of stunning locations along the circuit which offer incredible views located at various corners and straights along the track. Whether you want to come for one, two or four days, make sure you act fast and don’t miss out on witnessing the 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix live and in person this summer!”

With less than 5 months to go until the world’s greatest race cars once again speed through the streets of this stunning city, the message from Baku City Circuit to the world’s F1 audience is very simple: get your tickets while you still can and join us in Baku in 2017!
