Elmar Babanli, Secretary General of the Federation said that women’s team would be able to compete in a number of categories at once.
“We are planning to reinforce the squad to delegate more judo fighters to Tokyo Olympics to compete in some 3-4 weight classes. We have been working on it,” he added.
The next Summer Olympics will be held in Tokyo. The Japanese capital will be hosting a Summer edition for the second time, from 24 July to 9 August 2020.
The International Olympic Committee voted to select the host city at the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
An exhaustive ballot system was used to chose the host city. In the final vote, a head-to-head contest between Tokyo and Istanbul, Tokyo was selected by 60 votes to 36.
