Iran ups oil output from its filed in Persian Gulf
Iran’s oil output from its fields in the Persian Gulf has
increased, an oil official said. Saeid Hafezi, the managing
director of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), has said that
the output of Abouzar field has increased by 12,000 barrels per
day, ISNA news agency reported.
According to the official the increase in the output took place
after re-launching a platform namely AA at Abouzar oil field.
Abouzar oil field is located 76 kilometers, southwest of Kharg
Island with an estimated daily production of 140,000 barrels of oil
from near 90 wells.
Its crude is transferred to Kharg Island Oil Terminal through a
24-inch pipeline. Earlier, Iranian oil officials announced that the
country is planning to produce four million barrels of oil per day
as of late August.
In a monthly report published on July 12, OPEC announced that Iran’s crude oil production reached 3.644 million barrels per day in June, about 77,800 barrels per day more than in May.
