Uzbekistan holds anti-terrorist drills
Tactical anti-terrorist exercises took place in the Andijan region of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Emergency Situations Ministry reported on August 3.
The drills involved the units of the Uzbek Defense Ministry, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the National Security Service and other agencies of the country.
The Emergencies Ministry said the exercises were organized based on the realities of modernity and the challenges posed by international terrorist organizations and gangs.
Scenarios, such as preventing terrorist threats, emergencies, as well as fire containment and evacuation of residents were worked out during the drills held in Andijan, at a military unit of the Uzbek Defense Ministry.
“The exercises were held in conditions close to real,” said the Emergencies Ministry.
According to plan of exercises, a premises of the military unit was seized by conditional terrorists, who were neutralized through joint measures.
All the stages of the exercises were held at a high level.
