NAM summit due in Iran
Iran will host the 17th ministerial summit of Non-Aligned Movement in June, said Hamid Baeidi Nejad, Islamic Republic’s Foreign Ministry Director General for Political Affairs.
Nejad, who heads the NAM secretariat, added that foreign ministers of the member countries will attend the summit, Mehr news agency reported.
The NAM is a group of states which are not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. The movement has 120 members.
Iran has been leading the summit for three years and will transfer the leadership to Venezuela at the 18th Summit, which is to be held in Venezuela in September 2015.
