Georgian soldiers join navy exercises in Ukraine

Representatives of the Georgian Armed Forces joined the "Sea Breeze-2014" navy drills in Ukraine.

The U.S -Ukrainian "Sea Breeze-2014" naval exercises were held in the northwestern part of the Black Sea in Ukraine, on September 8-10, 2014. The aim of the drills was an international operation on establishing and securing maritime safety zone in the crisis area, Defense Ministry of Ukraine reported.

The officers of the Naval Department of the Georgian Armed Forces Headquarter represented the country in the exercises. Georgia's Defense Ministry reported that the soldiers of the NATO states and partner countries of the alliance took part in the navy drills along with the Black Sea countries.

The Georgian servicemen conducted control and coordination of the warships together with their foreign colleagues at the administrative headquarter in Odessa naval base.
