Georgian-U.S. joint military exercises kick off

The Georgian-U.S. "Agile Spirit 2014" military exercises kicked off on June 9.
The exercises started at the Vaziani military base near Tbilisi in the morning, the Georgian Defense Ministry reported.
More than 550 Georgian soldiers and 350 U.S. Marines are attending the event.
The exercises are aimed at coordinating the actions of the Georgian and U.S. troops during operation in Afghanistan, bringing the Georgian armed forces in accordance with NATO standards as a whole.
The exercises will take place in three phases and will end on June 19.
