Number of participants of seventh Astana Economic Forum made public
Over 10,000 people will participate at the seventh Astana Economic Forum in Kazakhstan, Serik Nugerbekov, the member of the Kazakt Senate said on May 14.
Nugerbekov, who also co-chairs the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists Association, made the remarks at a press conference in Astana.
"Over 10,000 people will participate at the Astana Economic Forum. To date, some 10,000 participants have been registered. Around 300 of them are citizens from nearly 150 countries," he said.
Nearly 70 major events with participation of around 100 co-organizers will be held during the forum, the Senate member noted.
"The UN Conference on Trade and Development, Davos Economic Forum, the International Trade Centre, the World Trade Organization and the International Organization for Migration will actively participate at the forum," Nugerbekov added.
He went on to say that the seventh Astana Economic Forum will allow to popularize and promote the EXPO-2017 mega-project.
"Moreover, there will be held a series of events dedicated to the Great Silk Road," he stressed.
Kazakh capital will host the seventh Astana Economic Forum and the second World Anti-Crisis Conference on May 21-23, 2014.
The events will be held with the support of the UN.
The seventh Astana Economic Forum is an event to be attended by the leaders of the world expert community, including the representatives of world politics, business, major international organizations and multinational companies, Nobel laureates, as well as prominent scientists and economists.
