Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan to accelerate state borders' delimitation
Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will accelerate the process of delimitation and demarcation of state borders, local Kyrgyz media reported on May 14.
"Following the talks in Dushanbe, the parties decided to accelerate this process. We decided to show an unconventional approach and accelerate the solving of controversial issues to ensure the normal life of citizens living near the border", Kyrgyz Deputy Prime Minister Abdyrakhman Mamataliyev said at the press conference on the results of the Kyrgyz-Tajik intergovernmental boundary negotiations in Dushanbe.
He also noted 57 percent of the border between the two countries are delimited. Flat country areas still remain to be delimited.
