Kazakhstan to hold military parade

Kazakhstan will hold a military parade in the Kazakh Eli square on May 7-the Day of Motherland Defenders.
The parade will focus on showcasing the new and modern weapons and military equipment of the Kazakh army.
"All the military equipment to be presented in the Kazakh Eli square on May 7, has been either modernized or produced in Kazakhstan's defense and industrial enterprises," Kazakh Defense Ministry said.
Over 2,500 soldiers and officers, nearly 300 pieces of equipment and weapons will be involved in the military parade.
Parade crews of the country's Defense Ministry, Interior Ministry, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee and the Republican Guard of Kazakhstan will participate in the celebration of the Day of Motherland Defenders.
This will be the second military parade dedicated to the Day of Motherland Defenders.
The first military parade was held in 2013 when the Day of Motherland Defenders was celebrated as a public holiday for the first time.
Last year 7,000 servicemen, more than 400 armored vehicles and automotive equipment, more than 80 aircraft and helicopters were involved in the parade.
