Georgia, France ink defense co-op plan for 2014

Defense Ministries of Georgia and France signed a bilateral cooperation plan for 2014.
The representatives of international relations service of the Joint Staff of the French Armed Forces, led by Navy Captain Alexis Willer visited the Defense Ministry of Georgia, the ministry reported.
Members of the delegation held meetings with the Deputy Defense Minister Mikheil Darchiashvili, Deputy Chief of General Staff of JS, Col. Vladimer Chachibaia and leadership of Euro-Atlantic Integration Department.
The sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in defense sphere and strengthening existing cooperation. Regional security issues and challenges Georgia faces, cooperation with NATO and EU, ongoing defense reforms and participation in international operations were also the topics of discussion at the meeting.
