Turkmenistan gets Boeing-777-200LR

Boeing delivered the first 777-200LR to Turkmenistan's national flag carrier, Turkmenistan Airlines on March 25, the U.S. Company said.

Marty Bentrott, Vice President, Sales, Middle East, Russia and Central Asia, Boeing Commercial Airplanes said Boeing and Turkmenistan Airlines have been partners for more than 20 years.

Bentrott also pointed out that Boeing is proud of its longstanding partnership with Turkmenistan which began in 1992 and looks forward to growing that bond.

The delivery of the new 777-200LR will be a fantastic addition to our fleet, Merdan Ayazov, chief executive of Turkmenistan Airlines said.

In 2011, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree for the purchase of two Boeing-777-200LR (longer range) aircraft.

Turkmenistan Airlines actively uses Boeing airliners for international and domestic flights and puts the obsolete Soviet planes on a sell-out.

Turkmenistan is also interested in establishing relations in the service and training of qualified professionals for the country's civil aviation on the Boeing structure.

Currently, Turkmenistan Airlines is connected by air bridge with Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Great Britain, Turkey, UAE, Germany, Thailand, China, India and others.
