Kazakhstan, Lukoil mull coop
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov during the tenth Interregional Cooperation Forum of Kazakhstan and Russia in Yekaterinburg, the Kazakh presidential service reported on November 12.
During the meeting they discussed the company's activity in the oil and gas sphere and aspects of the project implementation in Kazakhstan's petrochemical field a statement said.
Lukoil has been working in Kazakhstan since 1995. It participates in seven mining projects namely Karachaganak, Kumkol, Alibekmola and Kozhasai, Karakuduk, North Buzachi, Arman and Tengiz, as well as in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
The share of hydrocarbons extracted by the company currently stands at 10 per cent of the total production of Kazakhstan.
