Turkey’s Polimeks Insaat to build Olympic Village in Ashgabat
Turkish Polimeks Insaat Taahhut ve Sanayi Ticaret A.S. has obtained a contract for the design and construction of the third stage facilities of the Olympic Village in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan upon the presidential decree.
According to the document, it is planned to start the third stage construction operations in October 2013 and commission the complex of buildings and facilities in March 2017.
The project consisting of three phases was started in 2010. The implementation of the first phase of the project is estimated at $1.971 billion (excluding VAT). It will be completed in April 2014.
The second phase of the project started in May 2012 and the facilities are planned to be commissioned in December 2015.
According to the Turkmen president, this will serve the purpose of creating the conditions for training professional athletes and teams and ensuring the successful holding of international and regional competitions.
