Georgian Premier’s TV channel closed
The Georgian Channel 9 TV, which belonged to Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili 's wife, has stopped broadcasting. This was stated in the last newscast of the company which went out on Monday night.
The company's journalists have refused to work another 10 days until September 1, as was proposed by Ivanishvili. The company stopped broadcasting from Tuesday morning.
Recently, Ivanishvili stated that as a Prime Minister he cannot own a TV company on the eve of presidential elections and has to close it down.
Despite a lowered price, nobody showed interest to buy the company.
