Georgia cuts import of oil products

The Georgian Oil Products Importers Union reported that the country reduced imports of petroleum products in June 2013. The import of oil products to Georgia amounted to 58,200 tons in June 2013 or by 5,700 tons less than the previous month of the current year.

According to the report, the imports of petrol amounted to 27,000 tons, while diesel fuel - 31,100 tons of the total imports of petroleum products during the period. The imports of oil products amounted to 354,000 tons in Georgia during the first six months of 2013, including petrol - 157,800 tons and diesel fuel - 196,200 tons.

The fuel imports decreased by 24,300 tons compared to the same period of last year.

The largest petrol import volume to Georgia for the period fell to Romania followed by Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Italy, Greece and Turkmenistan. As for the diesel fuel, the largest import volume to Georgia fell to Azerbaijan followed by Russia, Romania and Bulgaria.
