Kazakhstan sees GDP growth
Kazakhstan's GDP grew by 5.1 percent in the first half of 2013,
Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov said on July 9.
"The GDP hit 105.1 percent in the first six months of the year and
the industrial production volume index reached 101.8 per cent,"
Akhmetov said at the government meeting.
He said that Kazakhstan's inflation rate in the reporting period
hit 2.7 per cent.
"The inflation rate is quite low. I think we have to maintain this
level," he said.
Meanwhile, Akhmetov noted that the situation is still difficult in
the mining sector and the oil and gas industry has experienced
