Iranian ministry explains explosions near Tehran arms plant
The explosions that have occurred on Tuesday in western Tehran
were pre-planned, Deputy of interior minister of Iran on security
issues, Ali Abdullahi said, ISNA news agency reported.
Abdullahi's reaction came as a response to earlier reports
regarding the explosions.
BBC Persian reported earlier that three explosions were heard in western Tehran on Tuesday, in an area where Iran carries out missile research and storage.
"Those were the planned explosions of destroying old ammunition. This is natural, and all of the explosions were carried out in Shahriar of Shahriar county of Tehran province, safely," Abdullahi said.
