Senior Iranian lawmaker to meet Syrian president
Chairman of Iranian Majlis (Parliament) National Security and
Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi will meet with the
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad later on Monday, IRNA news agency
reported.
Boroujerdi, heading a high-ranking delegation, embarked on a
three-day visit to Syria late Saturday.
The senior Iranian lawmaker conferred with Syrian Foreign Minister
Walid al-Mualem on Sunday on Tehran-Damascus ties and the Syrian
crisis.
Boroujerdi, also head of Iran-Syria Parliamentary Group, was
welcomed by Syrian lawmakers upon his arrival in Damascus on
Saturday.
