Turkey to buy small arms with remote control

The Turkish Armed Forces will purchase small arms with a remote control for use in the fight against terrorists, Zaman newspaper said on Friday.
Turkey has already held talks with foreign companies specialising in the production of these types of weapons. Using a remote controlled weapon is effective during an attack by terrorist militants as it can rotate 360 degrees and can be controlled from a police station.
The outcome will be security forces being able to fire on the enemy without a face to face confrontation.
Weapons work with an alarm installed around the police station which captures a person's approximation.
According to the report, the purchase of weapons of this type is planned for early next month.
