Russian city hosts Salvador Dali exhibition

A large exhibit of Salvador Dali works from a private Russian collection opens on Friday in Russia's northwestern city of Petrozavodsk, RIA Novosti reported.
The exhibition, dubbed The Masterpieces of Salvador Dali, showcases some 100 graphics, sculptures and ceramic pieces from the later period of Dali's work.
The collection belongs to Alexander Shadrin, a businessman from Yekaterinburg who bought the majority of the pieces in 2006 under a contract with the Dali Universe Fund, and added a few Dali works to his "art treasure trove" in 2011.
The collection has been travelling around Russia since 2006, being exhibited in major museums and art galleries.
The current exhibition will be opened for three weeks.
