Global Food Security Summit begins in Abu Dhabi

The Global Food Security Summit begins today in Abu Dhabi. The event is part of Global Food Week, which will run until November 28, Azernews reports.
The summit is expected to be attended by 21 world ministers and representatives of government agencies responsible for food security.
The discussions will focus on sustainable solutions to food security, global cooperation, increasing joint efforts between countries and organizations, strengthening food security systems, and combating hunger.
Over 80 experts will participate in the summit, sharing insights on the latest innovations in food security, including climate-optimized agriculture, agricultural technology, and supply chains.
The main goal of the summit is to develop practical strategies for building sustainable food systems that can address future challenges, create global partnerships to tackle common problems, and improve food security worldwide.
Additionally, the Abu Dhabi International Food Fair will be held as part of Food Week. It is expected that around 700 companies from more than 70 countries in the food and beverage industry will participate. The exhibition will showcase leading brands from around the world, representing the latest innovations in food technology and the sustainable food industry.
The exhibition serves as a comprehensive platform for establishing trade relations and sharing knowledge within the food sector. The Museum of Food of the Future will also be featured, an initiative launched by the Spanish Institute of Boards, which explores methods and innovations in zero-waste food production.
Seminars, discussions, and live contests related to coffee culture will be held on the Abu Dhabi Coffee Platform, organized as part of Global Food Week.
Michelin-starred chefs will demonstrate their culinary skills at Global Food Week Gourmet, blending global flavors with sustainable and innovative practices.
At the same time, the 10th Abu Dhabi Date Exhibition, which is part of the Week, will provide an ideal platform for networking among suppliers, manufacturers, specialists, and visitors in the date industry. More than 20 palm-producing countries will participate in the exhibition.
Additionally, the Guest Buyer program, designed to connect food and beverage suppliers with major buyers, will offer unique opportunities for building trade relationships in sectors such as catering, aviation, hospitality, and more.
Visitors to the exhibitions will have the chance to participate in sessions and discussions led by faculty from the University of the United Arab Emirates and other international academic institutions, gaining insights from future leaders in the field of food security innovation.
Global Food Week is being held under the patronage of the Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of the Abu Dhabi Organization for Agriculture and Food Security, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
