Terrorist attack at railway station in Pakistan leaves dozens dead and injured
At least 25 people were killed and 50 others injured in a terrorist attack at a railway station in Quetta, located in Pakistan's Baluchistan province. The explosion occurred on the platform around 9:00 am, as passengers were waiting for a train to Peshawar, Azernews reports.
According to police reports, the attack targeted a crowded area, causing panic among the waiting passengers. Law enforcement and rescue teams quickly arrived on the scene to assist the injured and investigate the cause of the blast.
The wounded were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Quetta, where emergency medical teams worked to treat the victims. Dr. Abdul Sattar, the Medical Superintendent of the Civil Hospital, confirmed that the injured included both men and women, with several in critical condition.
Authorities have not yet determined the exact motive behind the attack, but the region has been known for its history of violence related to separatist and militant groups. Emergency services remain on high alert as investigations into the bombing continue.
