King of Spain booed amidst floods washing away country's eastern region [PHOTO/VIDEO]
The retinue of King Felipe VI of Spain was pelted with mud by disgruntled locals.
Azernews reports, citing the information on social media, that the incident occurred during the monarch's visit to Valencia, the region most affected by the floods. The king's bodyguards barely held back the aggressive crowd.
The footage has been viral on social media while millions in Spain suffer from the deadliest floods.
Locals accuse the Spanish authorities of inaction and insufficient support after the floods.
Recall that terrifying floods have razed towns in eastern Spain and killed at least 214 people 5 days after the incessant rains in the country. Frustration at the government’s response is mounting, even as Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez promised to “improve” recovery efforts with the deployment of 10,000 soldiers and police officers.
