"I appeal to the President, the women of the opposition, and the citizens who have taken to the streets in protest. What will these actions achieve? The patience of those who won the elections may run thin, as they too are not very patient," Azernews reports that Archbishop Jacob of Bodbelya remarked in an interview with journalists.

He emphasized that the elected leaders will not abandon their mandate.

“How long must we remain at the mercy of others? Two opposing forces campaigned during the elections. One promised economic and educational progress, suggesting that when the time comes, they would join a union without gratitude. The other insisted that if you do not align with them, you are Russian, as are the laws and the government. The Georgian people made their choice and rejected this narrative," Archbishop Jacob asserted.

In addressing the President and female opposition members, the clergyman reiterated that it is unnecessary to speak merely to "please foreigners."

The archbishop affirmed the church's solidarity with the Georgian people, stating, "I know that relations will be restored. Our people cannot live in isolation. There are issues that can be resolved through compromise. Therefore, I urge that soon we establish peace among ourselves and strive for a society that unites rather than divides."
