Largest building in world being built in Riyadh
By Alimat Aliyeva
Construction has begun on the largest building in the world in Riyadh, known as the luxurious Mukaab. While it won't be a traditional skyscraper, this grand project is envisioned as a giant golden cube, measuring 400 meters in length, width, and height. Remarkably, it could fit 20 "Empire State Buildings" inside, Azernews reports.
What makes Mukaab particularly fascinating is its multifunctional design. It will house not only offices and commercial spaces but also 9,000 hotel rooms and 104,000 apartments for those looking to reside permanently. The project promises lush green spaces and stunning exterior features, including massive LED screens, transforming the cube into a living work of art.
With a budget of $50 billion, 900 workers are set to bring this ambitious vision to life, with completion targeted for 2030. Developers believe Mukaab will redefine the skyline and become the "new face of Riyadh," symbolizing Saudi Arabia's rapid modernization and ambition on the world stage.
In addition, Mukaab is part of the larger Vision 2030 initiative, aimed at diversifying the Saudi economy and promoting tourism, which may reshape not just Riyadh but the entire region in the years to come.
