Iran, Italy to boost art ties

Italian ambassador to Tehran and Iranian deputy minister of culture in a meeting stressed strengthening art relations between the two countries, IRNA reports.
“Italy is preparing to open a cultural center in Tehran, and
along with Iran’s cultural attaché to Italy, enables both nations
to enjoy various artistic events,” said Italian ambassador in Iran
Mauro Conciatori.
He referred to the recent performance of the Italian artist Nicola
Piovani in Tehran, and said that the Italian artist is interested
to hold such concert again, like other Italian artist who have held
concerts or exhibitions in Iran.
Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance for Art Affairs
Mojtaba Hosseini, for his part, expressed Iran’s readiness to
strengthen ties with Italy in different artistic fields.
He named Fajr International Film Festival as a great opportunity to
resume the cooperation in aristic fields.
Hosseini also referred to the variety of folk costumes in Iranian
southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, and said that the
cloth design college that has been recently established in that
province is a place that Italian designers can be introduced to
Iranian cloth design.
