The International Monetary Fund (IMF) lowered its forecast for GDP growth in 2019 to 5.6 percent and in 2018 to 6.2 percent.

This is stated in the report of the “World Economic Outlook” foundation.

Overall, the IMF's outlook on the economies of CIS countries improved in October compared to previous reports. Predicted growth for the entire post-Soviet region in 2018 is expected to be at 2.3 percent and in 2019 at 2.4 percent.

One of the growth leaders can be Kazakhstan with a GDP growth rate of 3.7 percent in 2018 and 3.1 percent in 2019.

Kyrgyzstan’s GDP in 2018 will be 2.8 percent and in 2019 4.5 percent.

The forecast for Uzbekistan and Tajikistan remained unchanged at 5 percent in 2018-19.

The growth of the world economy in 2018–2019, as World Bank states, on the contrary, will be lower than it expected in July - 3.7 percent annually instead of 3.9 percent.

The decline in forecast affected emerging market and developing countries: in 2018, GDP growth will be 4.7 percent (previously estimated at 4.9 percent), in 2019 also 4.7 percent instead of 5.1 pct. The estimate of GDP growth in developed countries in 2018 remained unchanged - 2.4 percent, for 2019 the forecast was reduced by 0.1 pct - to 2.1 percent.
