Uzbekistan investing in health resort sector of Stavropol region of Russia

The official delegation of Uzbekistan has arrived in Stavropol region of Russia on a business mission, Podrobno.uz reported.

During the visit, the members of the delegation led by the Head of the Administration (Governor) of Andijan region Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov have met with the Governor of Stavropol (Russia) Vladimir Vladimirov.

The governor of Stavropol noted that the cooperation of Stavropol region with Uzbekistan is developing. In particular, Uzbekistan makes investments in the sanatorium-and-health-resort complex of the region. For instance, a new pavilion in the "Uzbekistan" sanatorium in Kislovodsk city of Russia has begun functioning this year.

The annual mutual trade turnover between the two sides exceeds $12 million. Industrial goods, fertilizers and agricultural products form the basis of export supplies of Stavropol to Uzbekistan.

In turn, Stavropol buys cotton from Uzbekistan, as well as acquires cotton seeds for the development of cotton production and for the manufacture of light industry products.

Vladimir Vladimirov also named promising areas for further development of cooperation - projects in the field of agriculture, food processing industry, tourism.

Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov in turn stressed the interest of the Andijan region in the use of Stavropol region’s experience in the area of development of the greenhouse industry, as well as in the expansion of trade cooperation between the two regions.
