Turkish Air Forces bomb PKK positions in Northern Iraq

The Turkish Air Forces are bombing the positions of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Northern Iraq, the Turkish General staff said in a statement released May 22.
Air operations against the PKK are conducted in the area of Hakurk.
"As part of the operation, four PKK strongholds were destroyed," said the message.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for more than 30 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.
The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
