Iran becomes Turkey’s 3rd gas supplier

Turkey’s gas import from Iran amounted to 530.54 million cubic meters in September, 2.3 percent more year-on-year.
Natural gas imports from Iran accounted for 14.4 percent of the country’s total gas imports in the one-month period, according to a report released by Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Body.

Iran was Turkey’s third gas supplier in the period, after Russia and Azerbaijan.
Turkey’s gas import from Iran in January-September 2017 stood at 6.9 billion cubic meters (bcm).
Turkey’s total natural gas import stood at 3.681 bcm in September, registering a rise by 22.38 percent year-on-year.
Iran’s overall gas exports to Turkey reached 7.7 billion cubic meters last year.

Turkey also exported 57.99 million cubic meters of gas to Greece in August, indicating a fall by 1.92 percent year-on-year.
