Kyrgyzstan and Hungary aim to establish closer cooperation in business and investment spheres.
Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in Hungary Bakyt Dzhusupov held a meeting with President of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Laszlo Parag in Budapest on December 1, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
The meeting addressed the issues of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation.
The parties noted the importance of the intergovernmental agreement on economic cooperation, which entered into force on November 26, 2017 and envisages the establishment of a joint intergovernmental commission, which will serve as one of the main institutional mechanisms for cooperation on trade and economic issues.
The sides exchanged views on the possible participation of Hungarian businessmen in the mining, hydropower, tourism, agriculture and other spheres of the economy of Kyrgyzstan, as well as in individual components of the national program of digital transformation ‘Taza Coom’.
“The head of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry supported the idea of holding a separate business forum in the framework of the first meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic issues and agreed to assist in the formation of a group of businessmen interested in investing in Kyrgyzstan,” the report said.
The sides also agreed to study and launch work on the memorandum of cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of both states.
