Until the end of the year, 13 more deposits of minerals prepared for industrial development will be approved in Uzbekistan.

This was discussed at a meeting held by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on November 13.

Prior to this, in 2017, the State Commission for Mineral Resources of Uzbekistan also approved 13 deposits of minerals for industrial development.

The commission is operating within the framework of the Uzbek State Program on Development and Replenishment of Mineral Resources Base for 2017-2021.

It is noted that about 80 tasks in the field of geology were determined during the trips of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Uzbek Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan and the country’s districts. In particular, the work has started to sharply increase reserves of groundwater resources and provide the population with potable water, expand the mineral base in Angren and Almalyk cities and develop deposits.

Particular attention was paid to the training of personnel. The necessity of organizing a specialized higher educational institution under the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources of Uzbekistan was stressed.
