National energy-saving company to appear in Uzbekistan

National Energy-Saving Company (NEC) is being created in Uzbekistan in accordance with the presidential decree “On measures for further introduction of modern energy-efficient and energy-saving technologies”.
Local media reported that the NEC is being created “for introduction of modern energy-efficient and energy-saving technologies in the state bodies and organizations, as well as for ensuring rational consumption of the energy resources.”
The company’s tasks will include monitoring the efficiency of the energy consumption in Uzbek government agencies and organizations, preparation of proposals and introduction of the modern energy-efficient and energy-saving technologies, execution of the technical, technological, economic and other measures aimed at the reduction of the consumed energy resources’ volume.
The company has been defined as a exclusive supplier of goods, works and services for the introduction of energy-efficient and energy-saving technologies in government agencies and organizations.
NEC is being created in the form of a joint-stock company (JSC) by the Uzbek Ministry of Housing and Communal Services, the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan, Asaka Bank JSCB and Turonbank JSCB.
Funds of foreign and international financial institutions, loans from commercial banks and other sources not prohibited by the Uzbek law have been defined as sources of financing the activity of the NEC JSC.
