IRGC slams “unprofessional” move by US Navy in Hormuz
By Trend
A US warship recently drew its warning by sailing
“unprofessionally” close to the IRGC force’s vessels near Iranian
territorial waters on March 4, an Islamic Revolution Guards Corps
(IRGC) commander said on March 8.
The statement came in response to the Pentagon comments, which
blasted the "unprofessional" behavior of the Iranian vessels in the
Strait of Hormuz.
IRGC Capitan Mehdi Hashemi has said that the USNS Invincible
changed its direction towards the IRGC vessels in the Strait of
Hormuz on Saturday, Fars news agency reported.
The commander slammed the “unprofessional” move of the US, adding
that such behavior could cause “irreversible consequences”.
The US officials, however, said earlier that multiple IRGC
fast-attack vessels had come within 550 meters of the USNS
Invincible, a tracking ship, forcing it to change direction,
Reuters reported.
Over the past months several reports have been published on such
incidents between the two countries naval forces in the Strait of
Hormuz and the Persian Gulf.
