Carbamide plant in Turkmenistan may be ready in June 2018
It is planned to complete construction of a plant with an annual capacity of 1.155 million tons of carbamide in the Garabogaz city of Turkmenistan’s Balkan province in June 2018, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.
Turkey’s Gap Insaat company builds this industrial facility as part of the consortium with Japan’s Mitsubishi Corporation. About 900 workplaces will be created at the plant. Earlier it was reported that this plant will be the largest enterprise of this kind in Turkmenistan and the cost of the contract is approximately $1.3 billion.
Natural gas, on the reserves of which Turkmenistan occupies a leading position in the world, will be the raw material for the enterprise.
"This factor makes the construction of new facilities for the production of nitrogen fertilizers, particularly carbamide, prospective," Turkmenistan State News Agency wrote in its commentary. "When designing the plant’s draft, special attention was paid to the environmental aspect."
