Iran president, Turkey FM discuss regional developments
Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu met with Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani in Tehran November 26, state-run IRINN TV reported.
Mutual talks as well as the latest regional developments are on the agenda of the negotiations of the two sides.
Heading a delegation, Cavusoglu arrived in Tehran today morning.
He is also scheduled to meet with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif.
Iran’s foreign minister has paid two visits to Turkey following the attempted coup in the neighbouring country on July 15. Cavusoglu also had a short visit to Tehran last August.
Tehran and Ankara have differing viewpoints in certain regional issues, including the ongoing crisis in Syria. Turkey deeply opposes Bashar al-Assad’s regime, of which Russia and Iran are the major backers.
