Turkmenistan OKs law to combat human traffic

A bill "On combating human trafficking" was passed in Ashgabat at the meeting of the Turkmen parliament of the fifth convocation, Turkmen government said in a message.
The law defines organizational and legal fundamentals of combating human trafficking, a complex of measures on protection of victims of human trafficking, their rehabilitation and providing them with assistance.
Human trafficking is a global crime and it affects almost all countries in every region of the world. A large part of human trafficking is interregional.
Turkmenistan has adhered to a number of fundamental UN conventions regulating the issues of peace and security, ensuring rights and freedoms of individuals, and steadily follows through on its obligations. Women constitute a significant part of human trafficking victims in Central Asia and Europe, a UN report had said.
