Iran, P5+1 FMs first meeting since JCPOA to be held today
By Trend
Foreign ministers of the P5+1 group of countries and Iran will
meet on September 22 in New York to discuss the quality of the
implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA aka
nuclear deal).
The meeting will take place at 13:00 local time in New York on the
sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, Fars news agency
reported.
The meeting will be the first of its kind since Jan. 16 when the
historic nuclear deal was implemented.
The P5+1 (China, France, Russia, the UK, the US as well as Germany)
reached a historic deal with Iran last year to curb the Islamic
Republic’s nuclear program in return for lifting the nuclear
related sanctions.
Despite the partial removal of sanctions, many Iranian entities
complain that a major part of the US imposed sanctions against the
Islamic Republic are still in place making it difficult for them to
reintegrate into the world.
