Military convoy in Turkey under attack
A military convoy in Turkey was damaged by an explosion of a
remote-controlled, homemade mine, set up by members of Kurdistan
Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorist group in Turkey’s Van province, the
Haber7 newspaper reported on September 14.
No casualties have been reported.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation
of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 33 years
and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.
The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist
organization.
