Turkish army neutralizes over 180 terrorists

Turkey’s armed forces neutralized 186 militants in operations against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the town of Cukurca in southeastern province of Hakkari, the Milliyet newspaper reported on September 8.
According to the newspaper, the anti-terrorist operations are underway in the town.
Helicopters are used in the operations against the PKK, the report said.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 25 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.
The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
