Oil flow via Baku-Supsa pipeline resumes
Exports of oil through the Baku-Supsa pipeline has resumed. Indeed, transporting Azerbaijani crude via the pipeline has already begun, a spokesperson for BP Azerbaijan, Tamam Bayatly, said.
The western route pipeline had long been shut, initially due to repair work, and later due to military operations that had erupted in Georgia`s rebel region of South Ossetia.
The 830-km-long Baku-Supsa pipeline, operated by BP, runs from the Sangachal Terminal near the Azerbaijani capital to the Supsa terminal in neighboring Georgia. It transports oil from Azerbaijan`s vast Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields in the Caspian Sea.
