Azerbaijan raising oil, gas output
Azerbaijan’s oil and gas production will increase in
2010, reaching 52.5 million tons and 28.5 billion cubic meters
respectively, Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev has
said.
The figures are up from 51.2m tons of crude and 23bn cubic meters of gas in 2009.
Aliyev told journalists that the resource-rich South Caucasus republic is currently exporting 900,000 barrels per day of oil to world markets. Azerbaijani crude is being delivered to Georgia, Russia, Iran and Turkey.*
