Azerbaijani armed forces inflict 112 strikes on Armenian positions
The situation on the contact line between Azerbaijan and Armenia has remained tense as the Armenian Armed Forces shattered ceasefire a total of 104 times throughout the day, Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry said, AzerTac state news agency reported.
Armenian armed forces, located in Armenia's Voskevan , Dovekh villages of Noyemberyan, Aygepar, Mosesgekh villages in Berd region, nameless hills of Krasnoselsk village subdjected to fire the positions of Azerbaijani armed forces located in Gushcu Ayrim and Kamarli villages of Gazakh region, nameless hills of Tovuz and Gadabay regions.
The ceasefire was also violated in Tapgaragoyunlu village of Goranboy region, Chilaburt, Goyarch, Yarimcha,Chayli, Giziloba villages of Tartar region, Shikhlar, Kangarli, Novruzlu, Yusifjanli, Marzili, Shirvanli, Javahirli villages of Aghdam region, Kuropatkino village of Khojavand region, Garakhanbayli, Horadiz, Ashaghi Seyidahmadli, Ashagi Abdurrahmanli, Gorgan, Ashaghi Veysalli villages of Fuzuli region, Mehdili village of Jabrayil region, as well as in nameless hills of Khojavand, Fuzuli and Jabrayil regions.
The enemy was silenced with a retaliatory fire.
In view of the operational situation, Azerbaijani armed forces carried out 112 strikes on enemy positions.
Armenia occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, after laying territorial claims against its South Caucasus neighbor that caused a brutal war in the early 1990s.
Long-standing efforts by U.S, Russian and French mediators have been largely fruitless so far.
As a result of the military aggression of Armenia, over 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed, 4,866 are reported missing and almost 100,000 were injured, and 50,000 were disabled.
The UN Security Council has passed four resolutions on Armenian withdrawal from the Azerbaijani territory, but they have not been enforced to this day.
